The 1st annual Playbill Broadway Yearbook is a hardback, 400-page photo packed chronicle of the 2004-2005 season. Like a high school yearbook, the Playbill Broadway Yearbook has chapters for each class, the faculty, and the year's special events. And like a high school yearbook, we've captured the nicknames, the adlibs, the trends, and excitement of one very special community.
The 65 SHOW chapters contain: - Headshots of the performers, creative team, and producers - Group shots of stage managers, musicians, stage hands, dressers, ushers, box office staff, and even stage doormen. - Photos from opening night and anniversary parties - Interviews about backstage traditions, favorite snacks and restaurants, memorable fan encounters, and other insider details. Correspondents include Brad Oscar (The Producers), Melissa Errico (Dracula), Jackie Mason (Freshly Squeezed), Michael Mulheren (La Cage aux Folles), Ruben Santiago-Hudson (Gem of the Ocean) and Lee Wilkoff (Democracy). - Cast and staff lists, awards, and run dates.
We have even created an "alumni" section for actors who left during the season; and a "transfer students" section for new additions to a show.
EVENT chapters cover: Broadway Bares and Broadway Bears, Broadway on Broadway, Stars in the Alley, Gypsy of the Year, Easter Bonnet, the Show League softball championships, and other highlights of the year.
FACULTY chapters recognize our theatrical unions, press and advertising agencies, producers and theatre owners, and such service organizations as BC/EFA, TKTS, the Dramatists Guild, and the Wing.
Read it now to see what everyone else has been up to. Look at it in 10 years and let the memories flow.
