Jackie Hoffman: Live at Joe's Pub CD

Jackie Hoffman's debut solo album, "Jackie Hoffman: Live from Joe's Pub," captures the Broadway comedienne in rare but signature form, delivering a series of riotous original songs and monologues.

It was recorded during an extended sold-out engagement last winter at the Public Theater's nightclub venue.

Released on the PS Classics label, they state, "Hoffman is at her shockingly-inappropriate best: salty, saucy and uncensored. Here she leaves no comic stone unthrown, targeting everything from West Side matrons to public displays of affection, from the vagaries of show business to her own mortality. Hoffman’s unique blend of cynicism, stand up, and original songs will make you realize why her shows at Joe's Pub are the stuff of New York legend. This album is not for the warm and fuzzy, politically correct or faint of heart."

Michael Schiralli directed the Joe's Pub presentation that had musical direction by Bobby Peaco.

Hoffman received a Theatre World Award for her work in Hairspray. Her other theatrical credits include Xanadu, The Sisters Rosensweig, Regrets Only, Book of Liz (Obie Award), Straightjacket, Incident at Cobbler's Knob and One Woman Shoe (Jeff Award). Hoffman has been seen on screen in "Legally Blonde II," "Kissing Jessica Stein," "Garden State," "Mo' Money" and "Freaky Friday."
